About Me

Art has been my lifelong passion, ignited during my early years when my sister and I indulged in creative endeavors. We continue to inspire each other's artistic pursuits to this day.

As a young adult, my creativity led me to floral design, where I obtained certification and pursued this path for many years, significantly influencing my art, which prominently features floral and botanical subjects.

Although I studied architecture and interior design at university, my journey shifted when I prioritized starting a family. The technical drawing and design skills acquired during that time have enriched my art.

In recent years, I've enjoyed teaching art to middle years students and occasionally offer painting lessons to adults. My husband and I run a roofing company, and he is a strong supporter of my art, meticulously crafting frames and cradleboards.

About two decades ago, I ventured into pottery, and my passion was reignited when I received a kiln and wheel as a gift from my husband a year ago. Both wheel-throwing and hand-building have become sources of delight.

Living in Swan River, Manitoba, surrounded by nature, inspires my art. Daily walks with my yellow lab, Cooper, spark my creativity. The awe-inspiring colors and forms in landscapes, sunsets, and sunrises remind me of the incredible creativity of my God.

My deepest desire is to bring glory to God through my art and to bring joy to those who view it.

Sincerely, Melanie
